Well since the begining of January I have been busy tatting instead of making cards. I made one bracelet so far this week and in the process of finishing the black one. I have also been busy tatting with size 100 and 60, 80, and 70 size thread. The 100 is the finest you can use in tatting. The larger the # the smaller the thread. I want to tat some edgings on the 115 hankies I own old and new between making greeting cards. I need to get busy on my husband's birthday card that is coming up next Tuesday.

Splitcoast stampers has a new technique out this week called black magic. You should all try it. I am having a lot of fun with it and trying different colored card stock for a different effect.

I almost did not get this challenge done, it has been so hectic here at our home here in the Midlands of SC. I can't believe Christmas has come and gone and its time to send out thank you notes for all the wonderful gifts I received from afar. This Sassy Cheryl bear does the trick, it says it all from thank you to, get well soon.

The Final Christmas Cards

Well I finished my last two Christmas cards this evening. I used some new stamps I bought at Michael's, I forgot the name of them because I threw out the package. The green trees and green decoration are from Cuttlebug, the snowflakes are from Stampin-Up.

Well I am off to bed finally, I have a big day tomorrow.

Well I have been busy trying to finish my greeting cards and challenges. My desk is a mess again. I cleaned it up 2x already this past week and it just never stays clean when I am working on projects. I wonder where the day has gone. It is freezing cold out and the wind is blowing like crazy. I am off to make envelopes for all my cards. They have to be in the mail by tomorrow, then I am going to go finish working on my socks I am knitting. I have 2 more pairs to make for myself before I can make them for anyone else, since I have to make sure they are perfect before I can give them as gifts.

Boy this was a hard one for me. I must thank Janetlynne for giving me such great written instructions. for GIMP so I could combine two Sassy Cheryl's images together. I was even able to erase a segment so my add in would look more realistic. It was a good challenge.

What a day, I just finished my grandson's Christmas card in Sassy Cheryl's Color Me #5 It wasn't without challenges believe me. The roofers were here putting on a new roof and the hammering was getting to me, finally at 5:30 p.m. the job was completed. Now for peace and quiet once again.

I used a combination of markers, pencils and chalks and a silver gel pen for the bicycle. Well I am hungry so I am off to make fish and chips to night New England style.

Sassy Cheryl did it again and created another beautiful digi. I have a lot of Anniversary cards to send out and this will make a cute one to send at this time of year. I am new to Digi coloring, it took me 6 tries to get the colors I wanted to use. I spent 12 hrs in my craft room working on this one card. I landed up going to bed before I finished posting my card I was so tired. Oh the joys of being retired and being able to do what you want when ever you want. I don't add my sentiments until I am ready to send my cards out, because they need to reflect the person I am sending them to.

Alright Sassy Cheryl wants us to show her where we create and what we are working on. Welcome to my craft room, I am not as neat as the rest of you, because I am always working on 5 or 6 creations at one time. I have my own space with a surround view. This is where I have my morning coffee when its cold out like it was today, and where I design new creations in tatting and chat with you online. Its where I learned to knit my socks online, and where I make all my husbands winter shirts when I am in the mood. This is my do everything room, sewing, crocheting, knitting, tatting, cross stitch and make wire wrapped jewelry. I have the most stylish wastebasket in town a cat food bag....LOL

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge 40 Thinking of Love

At Sassy Cheryl's this week the challenge is thinking of love, well when I saw this love struck snowman I knew it was meant for my husband. It reminds me of him when we first met and he got all weak in the knees when we kissed. It was love at 1st sight for both of us. After two weeks of dating, we got married, and have been happily married for 43 years. We will celebrate our 43 wedding anniversary on January 9th. Now is that a love story or what. In the 43 years together, we have stuck by each other through thick or thin, no matter what I made my DH he always wore it with pride.

This week the challenge at Sassy Cheryl's is being Oh so Thankful, I am sure Rudolph is thankful that the elf is shining up his nose, its quite appropo for this time of season, thinking outside the box again. I wasn't sure which way I was going with this until it happened. I know I am thankful for a wonderful life.

To color my cappuccino snowman I used Stampin up ink pads and Marvey Blending pen. Sassy Cheryl's Challenge # 35

This weeks challenge was certainly a challenge, I just did not want to make something that was not useful in the long run, so I decided to make a desk calendar for my challenge. The calendar is made from a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card. What keeps my card from opening up all the way is a paper tab connected to the front and back on the underside.

Challenge #34 We Love Our Furry Friends

Well I finally did it, I entered my 1st Sassy Cheryl's weekly challenge. This is only my 2nd time using a digital. I am new at coloring. I also added one of the fan flowers from the scor-pal group challenge. As you can see by earlier posts, I have gone banana's over the fan flower. This will make a great card for my Retiree Sunshine group at BCBS of SC.

I have been so busy these last few weeks with all my SC state Fair entries. Pictures will be posted next Monday when I get my ribbons and entries back. Well I have been busy teaching myself Spirelli wrapping for 3 days now. This is what I came up with. I had the small Spirelli punch and added the mega size one from Punch Bunch. Now I have the brain storm to interchange different punches and spirelli wrap them. Here is what I have.

I created more Anniversary cards using Stampin Ups True Friend stamp. I punched out the dots around the flower and paper pierced the small dots. For the final touch, I added some bling in the middle. I am not use to stamping a lot and not sure if I like it as much as making flowers with my punches. I think the flowers lend more to ones creativeness than a stamp which just lays there. The jury is still out on this one.

I was busy yesterday afternoon making birthday cards. I don't usually do a lot of stamping, but I went to a Stamp in up get together and I learned to use a blending pen which was neat. So I took the stamps I have(which are so few) and made these neat birthday cards. I can hardly wait for my order to arrive so I can experiment with my ink pads and paper I ordered.

More POP UP cards, on a rainy day. To brighten up this dreary rainy afternoon I created this cute pop up card for my grandson's birthday in November, nothing like getting a head start. I used my Cricut for the ballons and Name. I created the name by welding the letters together so it would print out as one word.

A few days ago I created this card for my grand-daughter's birthday, her favorite color is blue. Used punches for the flowers.

This past weekend I finished up my greeting cards for the retiree Sunshine group. Here are a few examples of what I made. All the embossing was done with the cutttlebug embossing folders. For 3 I used the cuttlebug corner embossing folders.

Pocket full of Love Card

Using Penny Wessenauer's stand up card template I created what I call the Pocket full of Love card. Inside the front pocket made from a small paper doily, I added some hearts to cheer up the receiver of my card. I used Martha Stewart's edge punch and butterfly punch, the Paper studio 1 7/8 circle punch, the rest of the die cuts and embossing plates are from cuttlebug

This is just a few of the cards I got done. Outside of working my self to death in this heat in my sitting garden, I was able to make some cards for the retiree group. I am working on more and will show them when finished. The sunshine committee sends them out.

Birthday Card

Well my husband's birthday came and went, so I decided he needed to have a gold card for reaching his 75th birthday. I used grey card stock for the embossing, but before I embossed the card I used my gold stamp pad and swiped the stamp pad across the card stock. You can't see it in the picture, but the grey card stock looks like porcelin after it was embossed.

The card measures 11" W x 6 7/8" L before it is folded in half.

The mats measure as follows:

Bottom Mat - 6" L x 5" W

Middle Mat - 5 7/8" L x 4 1/2" W

Top Mat - 5 1/2 L x 4 1/2" W

The small Mat measurements:

Bottom Mat - 3 1/4" L x 1 1/2" W

Top Mat - 3" L x 1 3/8" W

This year I decided to make an easel card for my annual Christmas card instead of making a variety of different ones. This way here I don't have to remember who got which card last year.

I got the design from Split coast Stampers, the calendar comes from SkyBluePink in Ohio, the poinsettia, holly leaves and Merry Christmas are from Cricuits collection Joys of the Season.

The size of my card starts out at 11 x 5 1/2 inches after scoring the card measures 6 " wide x 5 1/2 " long. You could also make it into a refrigerator magnet by perforating along the easel part.

Here was a project for the month a shaped card. I made this one by welding the baby onesie together. It is an awesome tool in the cricut software for purchase. I also used a small flower punch and a scalloped circle for the yoke and trimmed the onesie and circle to form the neckline. the card is joined at the shoulders.
